Yesterday, two of our students represented the school with a stunning performance in the English Speaking Union’s ‘Performing Shakespeare’ West London Regional final. Millie M and Evie VDH (9H) performed Emilia and Desdemona’s duologue from act 4 scene 3, ‘Othello’.
The judges had a very hard time agreeing on who to put through to the national final. In the end, they did not choose our girls but they did invent a ‘highly commended runners up’ category, especially for them and gave them a special mention in their feedback. They were particularly impressed by their synergy as a pair and the way that they articulated how the duologue made them think about domestic abuse today.
They did us really, really proud.
