On Thursday 9th December, GCSE Computer Science and iMedia students had the opportunity to visit the Warner Brothers Studios in Leavesden to learn about careers in the creative industry. We travelled from school to the studio and began the day with a workshop about the different careers, learning many interesting facts about the Harry Potter franchise along the way.
We learnt about the vast career choices in the creative film industry, such as special effects, set design, costume design, runners and many more. It was insightful, and we all learnt a lot about the industry and the opportunities we could have. We also learnt about some very interesting movies that are coming out in the following years!
Then we had a 3-hour tour around the studio, which was extraordinary and we were extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to do so. We witnessed many iconic and breathtaking sets from the movies ranging from Diagon Alley, the Gryffindor Common Room and the Forbidden Forest to the Great Hall, Gringotts Bank and the Hogwarts Express. The original costumes such as the Yule Ball outfits, the ‘19 years later’ outfits and the Quidditch kit were on display too. Overall it was an unforgettable experience and we are so grateful for this opportunity that was given to us by Miss Parkes and Miss Foo, thank you for this!
