Staff and young people at St Marylebone School regularly nominate a young person to win a Jack Petchey Achievement Award. The award recognises the effort, endeavour and achievement of a young person in our community. The winners for this round of the Petchey award, along with their nomination descriptions are below. Congratulations to the following!
Elena Yr7
Elena has a lot of team spirit. She helps people in class and really puts other people before herself which is like a second nature to her. Everyone loves Elena, all for her kindness and support towards other people. Elena is very soft. She is currently writing a very nice story about our friendship group (Sade, Daisy and Lael, all in 7D) Her kindness and actions spread through our school like a ripple effect. I would really be very proud of Elena if she was to win this award. I know that there are many students in our school so it would be hard to win this however I really have hope for Elena to win this. Her kindness should come back to her in this way. I think that Elena Ono really and truly deserves this after all she has done to make a significant impact on people. What comes around, goes around. And that is her kindness.
Jane Yr11
Jane, is a student who has never ever gotten a warning, she is a person who deserves this prize most. I think Jane is an excellent choice for this award because she sets a brilliant example and is always amazing towards everyone. On my first week of school when I was in year 7, Jane helped me out a lot and she is so cool because she has a black belt in Karate…Although, that’s not the best part about her, she always, always, always, every morning asks everyone individually about how they are doing, imagine spending quite a while caring after all the people in 7H.. what a wonderful person…
Gabriella Yr11
I think she deserves this award because she is always looking out for people and checking up on them if they are upset. She is very hardworking and always on top of her school work. Gabby is also very creative and can do anything when she puts her mind to it. I think she is an amazing example and friend and most definitely deserves this award. All of the students will receive a certificate and badge as well as being able to contribute £300 on school-based projects. They will also vote for future winners at our school as part of the Petchey Panel. They should be proud of this achievement and know that they are setting an example of what it means to make a positive contribution to our community and society.
