Earlier this week, the grand final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge was held in the Cambridge Theatre in Covent Garden. The theatre where you might have otherwise normally seen the musical stage production of Matilda was packed with friends and family of the regional winners as well as teachers from respective schools. The 15 finalists came from each of the London boroughs as well as all over Essex. As you have seen in previous bulletin updates, Millie in Yr10 qualified for this final from a pool of more than 30,000 students. Her public speaking and performing skills were top notch. She attended a workshop earlier in the day as well as a social event with the other finalises. This event was the culmination of several months of work, guidance, feedback and practice of speech. More pictures from the event as well as videos of the speeches will be posted on the Petchey website and our school twitter when they are released. Millie has done extraordinarily well to have got to these finals and we are so proud of what she has achieved. Well done!
