This weekend 8 Marylebone students took part in the London International Model United Nations Conference (the largest MUN in Europe). It was two days of gruelling debate. Nikoo even had the unenviable task of representing North Korea in the Security Council!
Our students represented Honduras, Cameroon, Peru, Egypt, North Korea and Cuba. Two of our students wrote a resolution which was chosen to be debated in the Social and Humanitarian Committee and their resolution passed!
All students debated well and did an incredible job trying to resolve issues such as technological development in LICs, education for women, the responsibility to protect protocol and the issue of nation-states, sovereignty and armed conflict. It was also wonderful fun watching Marlena get the delegate from the USA to agree to Cuba running internet cables through Florida!
