The school has both Members and Governors. The Members ensure that the Academy Trust’s charitable objectives are being met. The Governing Board manages the school on behalf of the Trust and its key responsibilities are to:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its students and the performance management of the staff
- Oversee and ensure effective financial performance

Policies and Election
Members of the Academy Trust appoint the Foundation Governors and Local Community Governors, the local authority (LA) appoints the LA Governor, members of staff elect the Staff Governors, parents elect the Parent Governors and the Governing Board appoints Co-opted Governors with the consent of the Members. The Rector (a Foundation Governor) and the Headteacher are Governors ex-officio. A Governor’s term of office is four years.
The Governing Board monitors the implementation of school policies through a sub-committee structure comprising of Staffing & Management (S&M), Curriculum & Pupils (C&P), Finance & Premises (F&P), Audit Committee (AC) and Pay Committee (PC).
