On Tuesday 24th May, the Drama department took 30 Year 9 students to see the wonderful production of Hamilton at the Victoria Apollo Theatre.
The students were absolute ambassadors for the school – a real pleasure to be with. And they LOVED the show. They also got to be part of a Q & A with the company. What a treat!
Angel (9) For my first time visiting a theatre I was really surprised. I was shocked and amazed the story was amazing to the point where it made me cry. I would go and watch it again.
Yara (9) I thought the show was outstanding, entertaining and very captivating. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience.
Lia-Rose (9) This is the best show I’ve ever watched it was amazing, the costumes were amazing it was brilliant and I am so happy that I had this great opportunity as well as it being my ever first performance in the theatre that I’ve watched which makes me want to go watch more musicals.
Ayida (9) I really enjoyed it because I never knew about the story of Hamilton. It was also interesting as the whole show was just singing which is different to what I expected but overall, AMAZING!!
Natole (9) It was sensational! The show, the acting, the dance performances, the songs and everything else was absolutely immaculate! I enjoyed every second of it.
Lewhat (9) I absolutely loved the show. The lighting, scenery, dancing, and acting were all so well planned and thought out. I enjoyed every second and wished it would last longer.
Nargess (9) I really enjoyed watching Hamilton, it was an exciting opportunity and something that I don’t think any of us would take for granted. The story of Alexander Hamilton was portrayed enjoyably with moments of happiness to rapid moments of sadness; there was always something happening! The music and costume designs were my favourite part of the show. This is because the music was what made the show distinctive, moreover worth watching live. The costume design carefully references the 18th century period of the actual people, while updating the looks to fit with the modern music. Overall, it was a phenomenal performance & a 5/5!
Jane (9) The show was absolutely amazing. It was full of passion, death and uprising. It was such an honour to see the effects the lighting had on the performance; how well the singing told the story and kept it flowing and the beautiful acting while singing. The Q&A was also very fun as a bonus and seeing all the other aspects of theatre that isn’t always presented to you.
