Theme: Exploring the Impressionist movement in Music and Art
A big thanks to Ms Moorehead for organising the trip. Not only was it the first school trip many of us have been on in a good 2 or 3 years, but the visit was engaging and gave a greater insight into the art scene surrounding composers at the time, which will serve well to bring into writing any extended exam questions on the composers. I enjoyed seeing common themes in the time period, for example with ambiguity, applicable to both art and music, and how the new “impressionists” rebelled against the traditions in place.
The afternoon was a great breather in a busy Year 13 and gave us all fresh perspective and excitement to the course material. Not only that but it was just a nice day out, I like our class and Ms Moorehead has quickly become a familiar and friendly teacher with everyone. Hopefully, my class shares my thoughts, and we have now the enthusiasm to plough on until exams.
